Marjorie was the daughter of the late Joshua Laird and Bessie Kennedy, she married Raymond Anderson Bird on Dec. 13, 1932, he preceded her in death May 1998.

Marjorie and Raymond had four children, Susan (Leo) Helal, David (Sonja) Bird, Thomas (Cheryl) Bird and Deborah Jewell; grandchildren, Rebecca (John) Kenney, Stephen (Lorna) Helal, Karen (Mark) Baird, Sharon (Bob) Dixon, Valerie (Don) Hofbauer, David (Julie) Bird, Robyn (Troy) Hahn, Jennifer Bird Duff (Deceased), Andrea (Michael) Murry, Lindsey and Megan Bird, Diane (Kent) Conner and Johnathan (Emily) Jewell; and great-gandchildren, Michael, Tomas and Patrick Kenny, Julia, Olivia and Ashleigh Helal, Samuel, Rachel and Daniel Bird, Garrett Dixon, Kaitlyn Hofbauer, Alexandra and Abigail Bird, Noah, Baylee, Carter and Grady Hahn and Wyatt Conner. The were all special to her.

Like her father, who was mayor when Millersburg's pool was bui;t and her mother, who was a teacher and active in the church, Marjorie felt a strong snce of social responsibility.

She sang in thee choir at the Baptist Church in Cleveland and Millersburg Presbyterian Church. She became the first woman elder at the Presbyterian Church in 1978. Marjorie's singing was a joy to all who heard her and a special delight to her grand and great-grandchildren.

When Marjorie and Raymond moved back to Holmes county from Cleveland, they founded Bird Farm Service, an agricultural dealership. She worked for Holmes County Aid for the Aged and later became director of admissions at Castle Nursing Homes, retiring in 1976.

While working at Castle, Marjorie and Eileen DeHass sang together in Sweet Adelines and enjoyed traveling the world together.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Starr, Theta Sigma Briar Hill Bridge Club, and was a 4-H club adviser and a member of the board of Holmes County Training Center. She also enjoyed hosting many Rotary exchange students, attending events at the Ameicam Legion Park with friends and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bird; a brother, Earl Kennedy; sisters, Genevieve "Jenny" Meyer, Harriet Kennedy and Elizabeth "Betty" Pritz; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Bird Duff.

"This is not conclusive; A sequel stands beyond, Invisable, as music, But Positive, as sound."
