Civil Servant, Educator, Attorney. Best remembered for his role as Dean of the University of Wisconsin Law School and Chairman of the National War Labor Board. Born Lloyd Kirkham Garrison in New York City, he grew up in an affluent family. He represented physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in the 1950s during the U.S. governmental investigative hearings into his Communist Party associations from the 1920s-1930s in the aftermath of The Manhattan Project also known as the security clearance investigation.
