(By the Richland Correspondent)
Orinda Bell Tibbitts was born May 4, 1915 at Richland, and passed away Dec. 16, 1927 at the age of 12 years, 7 months and 12 days.
Orinda moved with her parents to Fredonia, Topeka, and later to Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. For three years Orinda spent the summer vacation with her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Tibbitts, returning to Wilkes Barre for school.
For some time Orinda has been in frail health and has spent much time in hospitals. Last fall as soon as she was able to travel, Dr. Tibbitts brought her to his home in Richland, where she could have an abundance of fresh air. In all her suffering she always replied "I'm all right" when asked how she was.
She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Tibbitts, one sister Loretta and her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Tibbitts and Mr. and Mrs. L. Land and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.F. Bennett at the Methodist church at Richland and burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
The pall bearers were Carl Miller, Wright Miller, Edwin Benander, Harold Benander, Nolan Spencer, and Marion Barrett.
Music was beautifully rendered by Mrs. B.F. Young, Mrs. Wright Miller, Miss Blanch Barbee, Roland McDowell and H.F. Bennett.
Those from out-of-town who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L. Land, Terre Haute, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. H. Bryden, Lyndon, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Corkhill, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sun and children, Mrs. Viola Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Tibbits and family, W.A. Percifield, C. L. Percifield, Kenneth Percifield, Miss Christine Percifield, Miss Bernice Percifield, Mrs. Ada Markham, Mrs. Dean White, Mrs. Lillian Smith, Mrs. Lillian Terrill, Mrs. Velma Scheetz, Mrs. Anna Reilly, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hoyze, Mrs. Yeo. Bahmaier, and Mrs. Hazel Disney, all of Topeka.
