James Kenneth Metcalfe
April 23, 1930 - July 24, 2023

James Kenneth Metcalfe, 93, Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Benny Karimalikkal officiation. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Kenneth was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. Kenneth worked as an Engineer for TVA from 1961 – 1988, and served as a member of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Ole Miss Engineer Woods Order. He earned his BSChE in 1961, then became a licensed Professional Engineer. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Helen Gowers Metcalfe; parents, James Ballard and Mary Leona Metcalfe; and siblings, Norma Lou Ball, Joseph Thurman Metcalfe, and Francis Harold Metcalfe.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Janice C. Metcalfe; children, Sharon Metcalfe Nesmith, Michael Gower Metcalfe, John Berryman, James Berryman, Mary Brice, and Suzie Wilbanks; sister, Verna Metcalfe Greenwell; eighteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
