Wanda Janell Tunmire, 88, of Waco passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Services will be Monday, July 31, 2023 at 1PM at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 12PM, prior to the service.

Wanda was born July 2, 1935 in Lorena to Abe and Mildred Smith. She attended Waco schools where she met Earl Lee Tunmire, Sr. They married October 25, 1951 in Oceanside, California.

She was a strong Christian woman and when Earl died she came home to Waco and raised her three sons. She was active in their school activities as a room mother and den mother for scouts. She was also active in a bowling league. Wanda worked and retired from CVS Drug.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lee Tunmire, Sr.; parents, Abe and Mildred Smith; sons, Barry Ray Tunmire and Darren Tunmire; and brother-in-law, Bill Humphus.

She is survived by her sister, Billie Humphus; sons, Earl Lee Tunmire, Jr. and wife, Pat and Larry Ray Tunmire and wife, Suzanne; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; as well as many cousins.

We were blessed to have her as mom and most importantly as a loving "Grannie" We will miss her but hold her close in our hearts forever.
