Dolores (nee: Blanchart) Anderson passed away peacefully at her home after a long decline in health in Torrance, California.

Born on February 28, 1931 in Los Angeles, California and raised in Torrance, California, Dolores was the only daughter of the late John and Agatha Blanchart.

While her husband worked long hours as an aerospace machinist with McDonnell Douglas (Boeing), Dolores was employed as a registered nurse and served within the Torrance Unified School District for over 25 years where she had a gift for protecting and promoting student health and facilitating optimal development. In 1987, as the Nursing Director, Dolores was a crucial member of the education team who attended to the health and well-being of students by securing a significant donation by the Sertoma Club of Torrance to the Dental Health Association. Children with dental needs are referred by Dolores, as the school nurse and screened by the dental team to pay for x rays, cleanings, fillings, teeth extractions and other services for under privileged youth through this donation.

Dolores, ("Dodie") had a generous heart and touched the lives of everyone she met. She was an active member of the Catholic Church, PTA, and Audubon Society. She enjoyed listening to her husband, Mickey, play swing and jazz on the piano with his band, the Peter Martin Orchestra; gardening; her collection of Hummel figurines; and, spending time with her family.

Dolores is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael "Micky" Peter Petraca Anderson; and daughter, Lisa Michelle Anderson. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her son, Stephen Michael Anderson (Laurie). Grandchildren: Monique Ann Mondaca (Jonathan), Kelsey McChargue (Robert), Troy Anderson (Camila). Great grandchildren: Dallas Ann Mondaca, Daylen Austin Mondaca, Dakotah Averie Mondaca, Gunner Troy McChargue, Saylor Aileen McChargue, and Hendrix Kai Anderson.

A mass of Catholic burial will be held in September at the Green Hills Memorial Park.
