Reverend Frederick Gilbert Gardiner Jellicoe, son of Capt John Henry Jellicoe (1825-1914) and Lucy Henrietta Jellicoe, nee Keele (1834-1916). He was the elder brother of Admiral of the Fleet John Rushworth Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe. Educated at Haileybury College and New College, Oxford. Distinguished cricketer, awarded his "Blue" in 1877. Assistant master, St Edward's School, Oxford (1880-1890). Ordained 1891. Curate at Alverstoke, Hampshire. Rector of Freemantle, Shirley, Southampton, Hampshire (1902-15), Rector of New Alresford (1915-22). Organist at St Mary's Church, Alverstoke, Hampshire. In 1904, in Alverstoke, Hampshire, he married Alice Caroline Bushnell (1865-1954).
