John Meinke passed away at the Holy Family hospital at LaPorte, Monday. He was a well known and respected citizen, counting his friends and acquaintances by the scores. He was born in Germany, coming to this country in 1874. In 1877 he engaged in the draying business, which he continued until his death. He leaves a widow, two sons, William C. and Edward H., and three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Hoover, Mrs. John P. Baer, and Mrs. Walter Hanschild, two brothers, Charles of Allegan, Mich., and Henry of LaPorte, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Bielefeldt.
