Georgie Dean (Hart) Murray passed away on July 29, 2023. She was born on December 4, 1943 in Woodbine, KY, the second child of Margaret (Harris) Hart and Herschel Elden Hart.

In 1961, Georgie graduated from Logansport High School, and shortly afterwards, married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Binney. The couple immediately moved to Hawaii where Jerry was stationed with the US Army. After two years of duty, the couple returned to Logansport where they settled into married life and raising a family.

Georgie lived in Logansport her entire life, working many years in the banking industry and eventually venturing into the real estate world, where in 2001, she launched the very successful real estate agency, Galloway, Murray and Scheetz. She was "Realtor of the Year" her first year in business and was very well respected in the industry. Georgie was passionate about several charities in Logansport including Emmaus Mission, The Humane Society and Cause For Paws.

Many years later, Georgie would marry for a second time to Robert Lee Murray.

Growing up, Georgie always referred to herself as the "well balanced middle child" of the family. She was a peacemaker, patient and kind. She loved people. Georgie never saw a stranger and was known to have helped many people along the way. When she walked into a room, it was as if someone had turned on a bright light, and people gravitated toward the light. She loved her children dearly, was kind and generous, and always put her family and friends first. Georgie will be deeply missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Wayne Binney Jr; first husband, Jerry Wayne Binney Sr; and second husband, Robert Lee Murray. Georgie is survived by two children; two grandchildren; three siblings; two nieces; five nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory will be in charge of cremation. Graveside services are planned for the immediate family at a later date. Georgie's ashes will be placed at Bethel Cemetery in Cass County, IN, beside her first husband and baby.
