Reverend Norma Walker entered into eternal peace and comfort on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 86.

Norma, was born Norma Jean Frances Newton to Rufina and Arthur Newton on May 18, 1932 in Cordell, Okla. She grew up in Cordell as the baby of seven.

In 1948, she married JC Walker and together they would bring in to this world three children; Terry Eugene, Linda Joyce and Jarell Curtis.

Although, preaching God's word was her lifelong mission, whether it be in children's ministry, guest pastor or visit with others in a time of need. She spent her early years cleaning houses, a department manager at AMC and then accounting for Barber Energy in Oklahoma City.

After retiring from Barber Energy, she was called to ministry full-time. She spent many years in Clinton, Okla. as the pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission. She was then called to the OKC Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission where she spent 20 years. From there she moved to Lawton until her retirement in 2017. Although, she retired last year, she has still continued her work with the Women's Ministry and taking care of the concession stand at camp meeting in Carnegie.

Norma was proceeded in death by her parents, Rufina and Arthur Newton; her six siblings, Esther Whalin, Al Newton, AJ Newton, Jesse Newton, Leo Newton and Ruby Bowen; and her two sons Jarell Walker and Terry Walker.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Baker and partner, Dianne Marshall of Yukon, Okla.; two granddaughters, Dedra Baker and partner Michelle Boyd of Yukon, Okla., Michelle Shellito and husband SrA Dakota Shellito of Boekel, Netherlands; one grandson, James Walker of Albuquerque, NM; two great-grandchildren, SGT Korban Smith and wife Morgan of Yukon, Okla., Kammie Jackson and husband Jonathan of El Reno, Okla.; three great-great-grandchildren, Bentley, Emma and Lindee; and many other relatives and friends.

She is also survived by many of her "adopted children and grandchildren" she gained throughout her life's work in the Pentecostal Church of God and Indian Mission ministries. Her life has been full of love, laughter and tears because of the many lives she has touch and who has touched hers. She will be missed by many.

A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1 - 6 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7720 S Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City. Family will be available to receive condolences from 5 to 6 pm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 22, 2018, 1 pm, at Pentecostal Church of God in El Reno, Okla., 1108 E. Rogers Street, El Reno, Okla., with Bishop Richard Talley and Sister Arlena Burnsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7500 W Britton Road, Oklahoma City, Okla.
