Mary Lois Adair Moat, age 75, of Gadsden passed away July 3, 2023. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Rev. L. Dale Butler officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 12 pm until 2 pm. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery, Albertville.

Mary was born in Etowah County on October 25, 1947 to James Mancil and Vera Lorene Adair. She was a 1966 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and a graduate of Gadsden State Community College, where she earned her nursing degree. Mary worked as a nurse for well over 25 years. She was saved at the age of 10 and became a member of the Alabama City Church of God. She found great joy in playing piano.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell C. Moat.

Survivors include her children, Stephen Anthony (Janet) Moat, Joseph Clinton (Selena) Moat, Lori Chrislyn Deerman (Clint) Doyle and April Joy (Vince) Mayben; grandchildren, Gage (Molly) Moat, Blake (Mattie) Moat, Cory (Sarah) Deerman, Mary Chrislyn Deerman, Savannah Mayben, Katy Moat and Hayden Moat; great grandchild, Bennett Lane Deerman; nieces, Emily Patterson and Erika Shoupe; nephews, Brad (Sheila) Lancaster and Dirk (Jennifer) Lancaster and other extended family.

Pallbearers will be Gage Moat, Blake Moat, Cory Deerman, Dirk Lancaster, Clint Doyle and Vince Mayben.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Deerman and Hayden Moat.
