The son of H. Leo Gordon and Elma A. Soggs Gordon.
***********************************************
Extracted from the Westfield Republican (Westfield, NY), 12 July 1922, p.1:
Leo Gordon was the owner and captain of the motorboat "The Queen" and was transporting 8 passengers and two crew (including himself), from an area between Chautauqua Institute grounds and Midway Park on Chautauqua Lake when the boat started taking on water. They all attempted to bail the water, but it came too quickly, and the boat sank. Their screams were heard by the pilot of "The City of Buffalo" steamer. Captain D. Kling, and crew, lowered a lifeboat and retrieved 8 people from the water. Tremont Reynolds was among them but died before reaching shore. The three who drowned were Leo Gordon, 22, owner and captain of the boat; Tremont Reynolds, 18, of Syracuse; and Cecil Price, 14, of Corry, the assistant to Leo Gordon on the boat. (Please note that Cecil Price was actually 18 years of age).

Other newspaper reports of the time say that Leo, sadly, was not found until Sunday, 16 July 1922. Cecil Price was found 26 July 1922.
