Frontier Times; February, 1940
“We regret to chronicle the death of Mrs. Josephine Susan Westfall, which occurred January 4th at her home in Elmendorf, Texas. She was 82 years old, a native of Louisiana, but had resided in Texas from early girlhood. Mrs. Westfall was the widow of the late Ed Westfall, noted frontiersman and companion of Big-Foot Wallace, who died some years ago. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Agnes A. Brehm, and a brother, Sam E. Dillon, both of Elmendorf.”
