"Mrs. Allie Hodges, 60, of 44 Colvin avenue, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday at her home. She had been ill since September. Mrs. Hodges was born Feb. 31, 1888 (sic, Feb. 3), in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of Henry and Susan (Fuqua) Malone. She moved to Battle Creek in 1935 from Detroit, residing on Main street until moving to the present address three years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Fitzgerald of 42 Colvin, and a son, Maurice Baxter of St. Clair Shores, both by a previous marriage; four sisters, Mrs. Cleta (sic, Fleeta) Sadler, Mrs. Dorothy Carper and Mrs. Ollie Bell, all of Nashville, Tenn., and Miss Emma Malone living in California; four brothers, Joseph, James and Walter Malone of Detroit, and John Malone of Donelson, Tenn.; three grandsons and a granddaughter."
