Patsy Ann Reed, age 75, of Northport, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with Rusty Selman officiating the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Festus C. Reed; parents, William L. Hutchins and Viva M. Tubbs Hutchins; siblings, Delma Jean Medders, Leroy Hutchins, Gerald "Billy" Hutchins, Ray Hutchins and Brenda Payne.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Camp and son-in-law, David (Tuscaloosa, Alabama); grandchildren, Victoria Camp, Lucas Camp and Gunnar Camp; sister, Sue Strickland and husband, Jimmy; a host of nieces and nephews, friends and her beloved family at Northwood Hills Baptist Church in Northport, Alabama.
Patsy was born on September 2, 1947 in Vance, Alabama. After graduating high school, she took a job at Bryce Hospital, where she worked for over 30 years in recreational therapy. She was an imaginative artist who loved teaching arts and crafts. She was devout Christian and a true servant. Patsy was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister and Friend. All who knew her can attest to her giving spirit, love of family, her unwavering devotion to her grandchildren and her quick wit. She will be unimaginably missed. Those left here without her will miss her terribly. But our sorrow is negated knowing she is with her Lord and Savior in Heaven.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Kenneth Boyd, Patrick Hutchins, Roger Hutchins, Scott Medders, Jamey Payne and Logan Stickland.
