Ruth Ann Holloway, 68, went home peacefully April 2, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Holloway was born March 25, 1940, in Red Ash, Va., to the late Robert and Lillie Hand. Ruth Holloway was the loving wife of the late Daniel "Dick" Holloway. She was a longstanding member of the Broadmoor Church of Christ Church. Mrs. Holloway loved to sew and quilt, but mostly loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by four daughters, Tammie Ruth Holloway and husband, Eric Wallin, of Boonton, N.J., Pamela Holloway and fianc�, Donald Terrell, of Chesapeake, Teresa Buck and husband, Jesse, of Richmond and Robin Holloway of Boonton, N.J.; one son, Frank Holloway of Chesapeake; a granddaughter, Stephanie Parris and husband, Keith, of Chesapeake; a grandson, James F. Old III of Suffolk; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Parris of Chesapeake; three sisters, Gladys Roseland and Jo Ann Smith, both of Grandy, N.C., and Ethel "Jo" Kay of Portsmouth; a brother, Edward Hand of Portsmouth; and also survived by a close family friend, Don Hardison. Mrs. Holloway was predeceased by a sister, Frances Barthlein; and three brothers, Frank Hand, Lincoln Hand and Larry Hand. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James Jones. A reception follows the service at Broadmoor Church of Christ, 3045 S. Military Hwy., Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Hwy. Chapel, Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
