Celeste I. Dinkel, 61, Hays, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family after a long-fought battle with cancer. She was born November 3, 1961 in Wellington, the daughter of H. Raymond and Arleta (Rusk) Allen.

Celeste was a graduate of Belle Plaine High School, and on February 5, 1988 she was united in marriage to Leon F. Dinkel in Belle Plaine. They made their home in rural Ellis County where they celebrated over 35 years of marriage. From this union came two children, Kayla and Garet.

Survivors include her husband Leon of the home, two children, Garet Dinkel of Wichita, Kayla Davey, husband Aaron, and baby boy Davey due in October of Topeka, two brothers, Reef Allen and wife Sherry of Oklahoma City, OK and Robert Allen and wife Janice of Peck, a sister, Lisa Willems and husband Jim of Farmington, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will be receiving friends from 2:30 pm until 4:30 on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Professor's, 521 East 11th Street in Hays. A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested and payable to Buckeye Jr. Farmers 4-H Club and can be mailed to Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine Street, Hays, KS 67601.
