Professional Football Player. After moving with his family to Canada, he attended Oakville Trafalgar High School in Ontario. He enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he played collegiate football as a punter and achieved All-American honors twice. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys during the 9th round of the 1970 NFL Draft and ended up in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Toronto Argonauts. On October 23, 1977, he set a record when he produced 108-yard punt in a game against the Edmonton Eskimos. To date, the feat still stands as the longest punt in professional football history. In 1978, he joined the National Football League when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs. He returned to the CFL, as he played one season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1979), a second stint with the Argonauts (1980 to 1982) and a part of a season with the Edmonton Eskimos (1982). For three seasons (1983 to 1985), he played in the United States Football League with the Tampa Bay Bandits and concluded his career, as he played one season with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL (1986). During the course of his career, he achieved CFL All Star status twice (1980 to 1981). After retiring from football, he became an ordained minister.
