Annie Willene Davis
August 22, 1944 - November 21, 2018

Annie Willene Addison Davis, 74 of Newnan, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a brave 3 year battle with cancer. Willene was born August 22, 1944 in Newnan to the late William Elbert Addison & Sarah Earline McCullough Addison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Tim Davis and brother, Frankie Addison.
Willene grew up on the East Newnan Mill Village, where she spent her days with her siblings and cousins. She met the love of her life, Eulon, as he cruised of the streets of the village and they were married December 29, 1962. Eleven years after marriage, she welcomed a baby boy into the world, Timothy Richard, and 11 years later she was surprised with baby number 2, Holly DeAnn. Of all things in life, she was most proud of her children and she loved them fiercely.
Willene attended Newnan High School. She worked as an operator at Lee Manufacturing Company before she took on the role of stay at home mom. She spent many of her days as a parent volunteer at Western School. She later returned to the working world as a 3 & 4 year old preschool teacher, at both the Learning Tree and Little Dears, until retiring to look after her husband.
Willene's greatest passions in life were her family, children, and cooking. She was a devoted wife and upheld every word of loving her husband through sickness and in heath. She was a dedicated momma, never missing an event and always a phone call away- dropping anything to get to her children in a time of need. She was a helpful, loving sister and the aunt all the kids wanted to spend time with. She was a kind, creative, preschool teacher, loving those children as if they were her own. She was a true southern cook and would tell anybody that she made the best friend chicken. From biscuits and sweet milk gravy to butter beans and pear salad- she made it all, and no meal was complete without a slices of tomato and onion.
Willene was a strong woman, and a loving momma, wife, sister, and aunt.
Survivors include husband of 55 years, Eulon Davis, daughter, Holly Davis; sisters, Patricia Thacker, Betty Jean Gaddy; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The funeral is Monday, November 26, 2018 at 2 o'clock in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Gaddy & Rev. Danny Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The visitation is Sunday evening between 6-8 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan. Arvin Addison, Chris Addison, Tommy Davis, Joey Gaddy, Todd Gaddy, and Richie Hawk will serve as pallbearers.
