Willard Neeley age 87, husband of the late Irelene Neeley, passed away peacefully Aug. 11, 2023 surrounded by his family, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital. Willard was born in Rockcastle County to the late Delbert and Ada Carrier Neeley. Willard was the last of 12 children, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Armon Neeley, Lloyd Neeley, Vernon Neeley, Martha Marie Anglin, Mary Neeley, Henry Delbert Neeley Jr., Harold Tommy Neeley, Genevieve Neeley, Cammie Dean Neeley, BertEva Clark, and Defreda Collins. Willard was also preceded in death by a daughter Kristie Thacker.
Willard is survived by his children: Lanita Sue (Joe) Denny, Willard Darryl (Jennifer) Neeley, Eva Malinda Neeley (Bruce Waddles), Marilyn Elaine (David) Gastineau, and Anthony Dana 'Tony' (Becky) Neeley, and his son-in-law James Thacker, his loving dog Faith, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Monday Aug 14, 2023 at 2 pm with Bro. Larry Day officiating, burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Wayne Husband, Joseph Husband, James Robert Blair, Jeremy Neeley, AJ Jones, Johnathon Portwood. Josh Neeley, and Jacob Neeley. Honorary pallbearer will be Russell Isaacs. Visitation will be Monday from 12 noon – 2 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
