Passed away March 27th 2008 at the age of 84 in Crescent City, California.
Elizabeth or "Betty" was born to Joseph and Frances Kondrad in Brooklyn, New York on May 6th 1923. Betty lived a full and gracious life. She had a generous heart, treating everyone alike with respect and love. Betty was a survivor, she overcame many tough times which only made her stronger. She grew up during the Depression, contributed to the war efforts, raised nine children, and out lived 3 husbands. No matter what, she always perservered. Betty was a kind, caring, and compassionate woman who went out of her way to help others. She will be remembered for her strength of character and her love of family and friends. Her great passions were cooking for her family and crocheting. She enjoyed her later years as a member of the local crochet club where she taught and exchanged ideas with "the girls."
Elizabeth is survived by four children, Carole Banks, Marlene VanZant, Jim DeMeo and Jackie DeMeo and four additional children through marriage, MaryAnn Watson, Dee Curtis, Carl Citarelli, and Theresa Carey, in addition to her 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lorraine Citarelli-Murray. Her life was a true testimony of how one woman unconditionally touched the lives of many.
Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, Ca. at 1:00 on Monday April 7th at staging area 5.
