MARTIN James DeRoy, 59, of Noble, OK passed away December 30, 1997. He was born in Fay, OK on August 8, 1938 to John and Ina Butler Martin. He attended Fay public schools and was also co-valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK. James was also a preacher and started preaching at a early age. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his brother, Vernon Martin of Guthrie, OK; sisters, Una Joyce Martin of Oklahoma City, OK, Iva Lee Cook of Piedmont, OK, Bernita Davis of El Reno, OK; 7 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 3, 1998, in the Colonial Chapel of Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK. Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. in Mount Hope Cemetery in Fay, OK.
