Obituary - Mrs. Delia Champlin Nickerson, 91 of Massapeag Rd., Uncasville, died Tuesday morning. She was born in Massapeag section July 17, 1874, the daughter of Capt. Azel and Harriet Smith Champlin.
She was married to Ernest Lee Nickerson Jan. 10, 1927 in Montville. Mr. Nickerson died in 1944.
She was a life-long resident of the Massapeag section and attended Montville and Norwich schools. She was Methodist and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Oweneco Chapter 104.
Surviving is a nephew, L. Earl Smith with whom she made her home for the past few years; four grandnieces and nephews; Mrs. Elsie Canfield, Mrs. Arlene Wujtewicz and Leslie B. Smith, all of Massapeag, and Richard E. Smith of Lousiville, Ky.; five great-grandnephews and one great-grandniece; two great-great grandnieces.
