Edward Augustus Danbom was born on March 21, 1918, to Andrew Gustav and Elizabeth Johana (Rylen) Danbom at Hilmar, California. He attended and graduated from the following schools; Hilmar Union High School, Hilmar, California and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California. He attended Utah State University, Logan, Utah, and the University of California where he earned his Masters Degree in science.
On November 21, 1941, Edward married Maude Lynd at Carson City, Nevada.
On March 24, 1943, he entered the United States Army Air Corps and served during World War II attaining the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge on February 4, 1946, Edward returned to California.
He later served in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations at Ceylon, which is now known as Sri Lanka. He was also an insurance broker and agent for 30 years.
He was a member of the Masons, Rotary Club and the American Legion and his hobby was gem cutting.
He is survived by his wife, Maude Danbom of Huron; one daughter, Susan (Leslie) Christen of Huron; two grandchildren, Alexis (Nathaniel) Stinton of Huron and Teresa (George) Fortier of Massachusetts; one great granddaughter, Arianna Fortier of Massachusetts; three brothers, Robert Danbom, Elmer Danbom both of Hilmar, CA and Rudy Danbom of Potomac Falls, VA; one sister, Linnea Schuster of Hilmar, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Paul, Luther and Philip.
His body has been donated to the University Of South Dakota School Of Medicine at Vermillion, SD.
