Robert Charles Windstein
AUGUST 12, 1936 – JULY 30, 2023

Robert Charles Windstein was born August 12, 1936, the son of Edward and Ruth Windstein, and passed away July 30, 2023 at age 86.
Robert was born in New Orleans, LA, where he ultimately attended Tulane University on a baseball scholarship, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Robert married his high school sweetheart Sue Brooking in 1957, and they remained married until her death in 1999. He served in the US Armed Forces for several years and later was employed at Shell Oil Company in the HR department, first in Virginia, then in New York City. He was finally transferred to Houston, TX and spent the rest of his life there.

Robert was kind, smart, generous, and had a wicked sense of humor. He enjoyed baseball, carpentry, fishing, shooting, traveling, doing anything with people he loved, and a good Scotch. He had many lifelong friends and close family members, and he was deeply loved and his life enriched by all of them. He was an amazing husband and father. After his granddaughter was born, she named him "Bob-Bob", and he was the best Bob-Bob that there ever was.

Robert is survived by his daughter Cheryl, and his granddaughter Isabella, in Round Rock, TX. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Suzanne Ruth, his only brother Edward Windstein and his wife Joyce.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, in Houston, TX, 77079. A reception will follow at the same venue at 3:00 pm.
