Robert L. Hughes Is Buried Monday
HUGO, Okla. -- Robert L. Hughes, 69, longtime dry goods salesman, died at home here Friday at 10:30 p. m., after six months illness. He had been in failing health the past 10 years.
Last rites, Monday at 3 p. m., were held at Wesley Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. H. W. Jett, and Coffey Funeral Home made burial in Springs Chapel Cemetery.
Hughes, born at Center Point, Ark., April 5, 1885, was employed at Idabel at a variety store 25 years before moving to Hugo. He was with the People's Store here about 15 years.
Besides his wife, Nell, he leaves these children: Bob Hughes, business manager at Lamar Business College in Paris, and Miss Mabel Dean Hughes, both living in Hugo, and Billy Roy Hughes, Longview, Tex.; and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Emma Martin, Idabel; Mrs. E. L. Fisher, Miami, Fla.; Gus Hughes, Waco, Tex., and Nat Hughes, DeQueen, Ark.
