MAXINE WILLIAMS, 70, of FREEHOLD, died Friday, April 4 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was in born in Long Branch and resident in Freehold for many years. She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church where she served on the nurse unit and the kitchen committee.
She was predeceased by her parents, McKinley Sr. and Dorothy Bell Henderson Askew; her husband, LeRoy; her daughter, Elizabeth Williams and her brother, McKinley Jr. Surviving are her grandson, Lee Harbour, Freehold; a brother, William Askew, Long Branch; two sisters, Barbara Penha, Neptune and Debra Askew, Virginia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sixth Street Baptist Church, 15th and 6th St., Lakewood; a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Lakewood Funeral Home, Howell is in charge of arrangements.
