Obit: Alfred A. Carver, 79, died Friday morning in his home, near Mendon, St. Joseph County. He had been a farmer in that section for 24 years. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Laura McClish, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Monday morning in the H. R. Harrington Chapel, South Streeet and Westnedge Ave. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

"Doc" was known to always wear a suit, never "work" clothes, though he was a farm laborer. Never married.
