1911 Obituary: J. H. MILLER DEAD
James H. Miller, was born in Benton County, Mo., May 28, 1848 and died at his home near Glencoe, Ok., March 31, 1911 after a lingering illness of three months. All was done for him that human hands could do, but the time had come for him to go and say good bye.
Mr. Miller moved from Benton County, Mo. to southwest Mo. in the spring of 1856, and located in Newton County, near Neosho, where he lived on a farm until the fall of 1907 when he sold his farm and moved to Oklahoma. He was married to Miss Annie Vassar on September 1, 1870. To this union were born 13 children, three of whom proceeded him to the spirit world. [Andrew J. born 2/23/1872 died 3/6/1872, Oney F. born 1/20/1883 died 9/8/1883, and an infant born and died August 1893, all in Missouri.]
He leaves to morn his loss a loving wife and ten children, 6 boys and 4 girls. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. Mr. Miller was converted at the age of 42 years and was used of the Lord several years as a local minister in preaching the Gospel. We weep not as those that have no hope.
