Glenda Jean Adair was born in Lawton on December 19, 1942, to Glen H and Evelyn J (Fateley) Rosser and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the age of 80 years and 8 months.
Glenda was raised and attended school in Lawton. She attended St Mary's Catholic School and graduated in 1961. Glenda attended the Lawton Police Academy and graduated in the early 70's. She worked at the Lawton Police Department.
In 1961, she married Gary R Pennington and they made their home in Lawton. To this union two daughters were born, Michelle and Kelly. Glenda and Gary remained life time friends. On June 18, 1973, She married the love of her life, Cletus L. Adair. They made their home in Weatherford and together they raised a blended family.
Cletus and Glenda opened the Weatherford KFC in the 70's. Together they traveled between stores, building their businesses and raising their family. They built "The Big House" in 1975, north of Weatherford, and started raising and showing Texas Longhorn cattle.
Glenda loved raising the baby longhorns and going to the cattle shows. She was a topnotch farmhand. She could build fence, wrangle cattle and herd kids with the best of 'em. Glenda loved the land and all she could produce from it. There were always fresh vegetables in the house. With so many kids and their friends in and out of the house, Glenda spent so much time in the kitchen – never disappointing.
In her retirement she started spending time "working". She called her daughter to say she was going to work. We later learned "work" was the Lucky Star Casino where she was playing. Glenda made many good friends and loved spending time with them. She spoke of them often and always with a big smile.
Glenda had a lot of special and close friends; she may have not always told them but we all knew because she talked to us about them.
Glenda loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. They made her laugh and brought great joy to her life. Mention them and she would light up. She had special and different adventures with each one.
Life had many struggles. There was heartache and challenges…. But Glenda climbed the mountain and came out on top. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. All her sins were washed away.
Glenda is survived by Michelle DeBona of Weatherford, OK, Kelly Agee and husband, Rob of Ft Cobb, OK, Keitha Robinson and husband, Vic of Mustang, OK, Kevyn Steffensen and husband, Eddie of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Hunter Agee, Emma and Olivia DeBona, Bradan Steffensen and Tyler Legg; and great- grandchildren, Harper Murray and Banner and Timberlynn Agee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Adair; her parents: brother, Rodney Rosser; and granddaughter Alexis Murray.
