John graduated from Conotton Valley High School, Class of 1983. He married the former Jacqueline Kay (nee Springhetti) Gasche on January 16, 1993. John worked in the oil field business for more than 20 years as a tanker driver and trainer. He was currently employed at Gas Field Services, formerly C.S. Trucking and previously at the Stallion Company. John made many friends whom he met while working in the oil field, his "Wolf Pack" who offered unconditional love and support during his journey. In his earlier years, he was employed at the Belden Brick Company along with Miller Farms.
Anyone who knew him would describe him as a hard worker. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. John never met a stranger; and would lend a hand to those in need. He always loved attending his grandchildren's events.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jackie McNutt; his children, Tiffany (Jeremy) Barnhart, Seth (Lindsey) Gasche, Jason McNutt, Lindsay McNutt and John McNutt; his grandchildren, Cooper, Reagan, Hannah, Peyton, Gabriel, Skylar, Mason, Drake, Parker, Skylar, Landon, and Camden; his mother, Ruby McNutt; three sisters, Therese (Andrew) Beverly, Rhonda (Wade) Hurless and Holly Hursey; a brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Thomas) Springhetti-Rafferty; and his canine companion, Maverick. John also shared a special bond with his cousins by chance and friends by choice, Aaron, Larry, and Daniel McNutt.
John is preceded in death by his father, Henry J. McNutt Sr; one infant son, Travis McNutt who passed away on April 20, 1986; a sister, Connie L. McNutt; and his mother-in-law, Barbara (Delbert "Bud") Keffer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jon M. Coventry presiding. Interment will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
