Mrs. Frances Virginia Wilkie, age 73 of Centre, passed away Thursday September 8, 2011 at Floyd Specialty Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brett Clements and Rev. Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Survivors include her son, Tony (Mary Gay) Wilkie, Centre; Grandchildren, Chelsey and Bailey Wilkie, Centre; Brothers, Harold Waddell, Rome, Billy Wayne Waddell, Centre, Lamar Waddell, Atlanta, Ga, Alan Waddell, Rome, Phil Waddell, Centre, Larry Waddell, Cartersville; Sisters, Sara Chambers, Summerville, Betty Adams, Rome, Joyce (John) Korte, Leesburg; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Mrs. Wilkie was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Paul and Vera Lee Waddell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wilkie and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Joe Waddell, Gilbert Patty, Tim Pope, Hal Waddell, Eddie Waddell, and Tim Deaton.
