Unity - Funeral services for Cpl. Arthur A. Crowell, 21, who died in Viet Nam May, 26, 1968, will be held at the Unity Union Church Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Fowler officiating. He was born in Unity, January 1, 1947, the son of Donald and Leona (Gould) Crowell. He attended Unity schools and graduated from Mt. View High School in Thorndike where he also took a post graduate course.

While in school he was active in sports and placed third in the state meet in the javelin throw. He joined the U. S. Marines in August 1966, and was wounded in Action, receiving the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Donald, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Alnetta) Hayes of Troy and Mrs. Stanley (Judith) Paton of Gorham; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alnetta Crowell of Unity; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Julia Gould of Brownville; two nephews, a niece and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Personnel from the Brunswick Naval Air Station will conduct memorial services at the Quaker Hill Cemetery in Unity.
