Fergus S. Smith II was born about 1730 in Cecil County, Maryland and died about 1815. He married Elizabeth Wallace. After 1748, he inherited his father's plantation in Cecil County, Maryland on which he lived until 1778. He took the oath of Allegiance to the new American government in 1778.

Burial: Lower Buffalo Graveyard, Brooke Co, West Virginia.
