Donald Lee Anderson, 85, of Fredonia, Kansas, passed away on August 19, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 21, 1937, in New Albany, Kansas.

Donald was a great husband and father, known for his caring nature and devotion to his family.

Donald attended Fredonia High School, graduating in 1955. He then served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1956 to 1962, where he demonstrated his dedication to duty and commitment to serving his country.

On August 4, 1963, at the Buxton Christian Church he was united in marriage to Melva Marie Keykendall and she preceded him in death September 29, 2020.

Donald worked with Wilson County Road and Bridge as a road grader operator. He was known for his hard work and dedication to maintaining the county's roads.

Donald was a man of faith and found solace in his worship at the New Albany Methodist Church and Cornerstone Christian Church. He was an active member of both congregations and contributed to the construction of the old and new New Albany Methodist Church, as well as the Cornerstone Christian Church.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed coon hunting, carpentry, and working with wood. His craftsmanship was evident in his contributions to the construction of the churches.

Donald is survived by his son, Donnie L. Anderson, of New Strawn, Kansas, daughter, Sheri M. Anderson Sass, of Fredonia, Kansas, son, David W. Anderson, of Russell, Kansas. He is also survived by his brothers, Bud Anderson, of New Albany, Kansas, and Rick Anderson, of Willard, Missouri, and his sisters, Joann Houchin, of Fredonia, Kansas, Irene Lakin, of Andover, Kansas, and Nancy Wescott, of Willard, Missouri.

Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his grandchildren, Megan, Stephanie, Aaron, Colton, and Nick, as well as his great-grandchildren, Josie, Dalton, Haven, Payson, and Emersyn.
