Alfred Maurice Johnson, 58, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 24, 2023 after a short illness.
He was born on May, 6, 1965, the son of Jake Johnson, Sr. and Ellen Patricia Rogan. He was preceded in death by his father Jake Johnson Sr, brothers Jake Johnson Jr., Michael Johnson, step-father Willie Rogan Sr, grandparents James and Frances Godwin and several aunts and uncles.
Maurice was a gifted auto mechanic and loved working on cars. He was dedicated to his mother and visited her every month since the passing of his stepfather in 2017 to make sure she got to all of her appointments every month and to take care of her home. He didn't let his own heath issues stop him from coming home to take care of her.
Maurice is survived by his mother Ellen Patricia Rogan; brothers Conne Johnson, Paul (Natasha) Johnson, and Wade (Frankie) Jones-Ray; children Walesha, William, Jennifer and Nevaeh; uncle, Elder Lewis Carruthers; aunts, Flora McKendrick, Beulah Hannan, Ardrene Carruthers, Anna Taylor, Shermain Lawrence, Tearsa Godwin, Carmelia Godwin; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Henrietta Braden.
A memorial service will be held on September 13, 2023 at 1pm at West Eastland Church of Christ, 342 W Eastland Ave, Gallatin, TN.
