Hal Bryan Chestnut, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 6, 2008 from respiratory failure.
Born in Conway, SC, he came here in 1954. Hal was a Korean War Army veteran, member of 1st Baptist Church of Highland City and a member of Masonic Lodge 256 F & A.M.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Mashall and Mary Chestnut, step-mother Gladys Chestnut, sister, Gertie Wilder and brother Lloyd Chestnut. Survivors include his loving wife, Bernice, daughter, Janice Chestnut-Morgan of Bartow, Fl, sisters: Lottie Mcelhaney of La Platta, MD, Gloria "Tiny" Zwack of Conway, SC, Sarah Percival of Greenville, SC, Pam Adams of Myrtle Beach, SC, a brother, Wendall Chestnut of Pawleys Island, SC, grandchildren Sara Mc- Kinley and Sam Mc- Kinley.
Friends will be received at Lakeland Funeral Home, 2125 South Bartow Highway, on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
