ADRIAN F. SMITH, 78, of NEPTUNE CITY, died Wednesday, April 2, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Norbeth, Pa., he lived in Bradley Beach from 1954 to 2006, when he moved to Neptune City. He worked for Clayton J. Newman Furniture, South Belmar, which became Brielle Furniture, from 1947 until 1995 as warehouse manager, general manager and salesman. During the 1940s and 1950s, he drove stock cars at Wall Stadium. He served in the New Jersey National Guard as a marksman and judo instructor. Mr. Smith was a member and communicant at the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, and a member of the Holy Name Society, the Manasquan Elks, the Shark River Yacht Club and the Bradley Beach Senior Poker Club.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Ruth Reinhart Smith; a daughter, Adrienne Linda Smith Levy, MA, MFT and her husband Ralph Edward of Lake San Marcos, Calif.; a son, James Frederick Smith and his wife Marian of Middletown; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Lauren Levy, Michael Davidd Levy, Jaclyn Claire Smith, and Andrew and Christine Jones.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D St., Belmar. Family and friends will gather at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach. Interment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. James Food Pantry, Bradley Beach, would be appreciated.
