Brief mention was made last week of the death of Mr. John Harrison, one of the pioneers of the county. He was born in Belmont county, Ohio Jan. 31, 1831. He was twice married, his first wife being Matilda Inskip, who died two years after their marriage. His second wife was Deborah Watkins, who passed away in 1904. He came to Marion county in 1873 and this county was his home most of the time until six years ago when he went to Hutchinson to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Elma Christner. It was at the home of this daughter that he died August 13, 1913. He was the father of eight children, four boys and four girls. Two daughters preceded him to the other world.

He passed away expressing a calm faith in the Lord and an assurance of his readiness to go. He was a man of many excellent qualities. He went through the hardships of pioneer life and fought a good fight.
