Mrs. W. H. Bicknell, Golden Pioneer, Dies at Home In Denver

After a long illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant Bicknell. 70, highly esteemed Golden pioneer, died Friday night at 9 o'clock in the home of her daughter. Mrs. John Bicknell in Denver. Funeral services were conducted Monday noon at Denver mortuary. Burial was in Golden cemetery. Surviving are the husband, Walter H. Bicknell, to whom she was married 35 years ago in Golden : a son, Fred Bryant of Colorado Springs: and three daughters. Mrs. W. S. Medell of Dean. N. J., wife of William Medell, member of a pioneer Golden family and Colorado School of Mines graduate: Mrs. Charles Easley of Golden and Mrs. John Bicknell of Denver. Mrs. Bicknell was born in England and, when three years old, came to the United States with her parents. She married John Brisbane Bryant in Ottawa, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Bryant and family resided in Golden in the eighties. He conducted a blacksmith shop here and died in 1887. A number of years after the death of her husband Mrs. Bryant married Mr. Bicknell. The family moved to Denver about 20 years ago.
