Cornelius J. Vande Laare of Charleston township, passed away Tuesday morning following a lingering illness, at the age of 51 years. He has been a resident of Charleston for about twenty years and a director of the Lawler school board for the past few years. Besides the widow, Mrs. Nellie VerCies Vande Laare, he is survived by four sons, Melvin of Kalamazoo, Donald, Nelson and Robert, two daughters, Margaret and Doris, all living at home, his parents, two sisters and two grandchildren of Kalamazoo. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o ’clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Galesburg, and burial will be made in the Riverside cemetery, in Kalamazoo.
