Peoria, IL - C. Patricia Mellican, CPA, 68, of Sun City in Huntley, Ill., and Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Chicago, Ill., Galesburg, Ill., and Peoria, Ill., passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Chicago.

She was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Galesburg, the daughter of Leo and Lois Miles Jordan. She married John M. Mellican on June 1, 1963, in Abingdon, Ill.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Sean (Pattie) in Gurnee, Ill., and Jordan (Renee) in Lake Zurich, Ill.; four grandchildren, Abigail, Seamus, Mia and Macy; a sister, Mary E. (Donald, deceased) Bainbridge in Washington, Ill.; and two brothers, Leo Miles Jordan and David N. (Nancy) Jordan, both in Monticello, Ind.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dena Marie; her parents; and a sister, Margaret Ann Sperlin.

She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg, Ill., and Bradley University, with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

She was an auditor for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, & Co., Chicago; Arthur Young & Co., Colorado; and Price Waterhouse, Peoria. She was vice president of finance for Jordan Manufacturing Company, Peoria. She owned an accounting firm, CPM CPA in Galesburg. She retired as director of professional standards and peer review for the Illinois CPA Society, Chicago.

She served on the boards of Costa Catholic School in Galesburg, the Salvation Army in Galesburg, the Knox-Galesburg Community Chorus, the Galesburg Civic Art Center and the Eleanor Foundation (Chicago).

She was a member of the following organizations, Saint Mary Church (Huntley), Corpus Christi Church and choir (Galesburg), Old St. Pat's Church and choir (Chicago), Our Lady of the Angels Church and choir (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.), Chapter W PEO, Sunrise Rotary Club, a charter member of Chapter IP PEO (Sarasota, Fla.), Prairie Singers, Prairie Voices, Red Hatters, Tall Oaks Tennis Club and various bridge clubs.

Cremation rites have been accorded. An inurnment with a graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg, Ill.
