Albert Charles Sherman was a British Home Child emigrated to Canada by Dr Barnardo Homes. On May 28, 1909, Albert arrived in Quebec aboard the Corsican. From there, Albert travelled with his travel party to the Barnardo Home in Toronto, Ontario. Albert was placed out to work in indentured service with George Glazier of Tilbury, Ontario. Albert attested in Kingston, Ontario on November 4, 1914. Served WWI with the 21st Battalion. He was granted permission to marry in 1919. Albert married Tamar Mann in Hunslet, Leeds on April 29, 1919. They returned to Canada in 1923 with 2 children, (Madge b 1921 and Ronald b 1920) to settle. Two more children were born in Canada. They were Frederick and Marylin (Dorothy).
