Roy T. Shunk Sr., 75, of Monongahela, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in his home. Born Oct. 12, 1927, in Lynn, he was a son of the late Guy E. and Minnie J. Sack Shunk. He worked for 23 years as an oiler for Warner and Swasey Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Shunk served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the forty et eight and Monongahela American Legion Post 302. He also was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monongahela. Mr. Shunk is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jean Cox Shunk, whom he married Feb. 15, 1958; four sons, Roy T. Shunk Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, Donald E. Shunk of Monongahela, Fred T. Shunk of Donora, and Bradley J. Shunk of Scottdale; one daughter, Mary L. Stoffer of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, John F. Shunk of Florida and Fred T. Shunk of Monongahela; three sisters, Dorothy Winwood of Elizabeth, Louise Illig of North Olmsted, Ohio, and Eleanor Sawyers of Monongahela; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Cody Stoffer, and Crystal, Donald Jr., Tiffany, Rebecca, and Cassie Shunk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Shunk. Friends will be received in the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Friday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Milinovich officiating. Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville. My grandfather was a very easy to get along with person. He thought the world of his grandchild. I miss him so much. I wish he was here to see what a great person i turned out to be. I miss and love you grandpap
