Born in Schuyler, Virginia, he had lived in Vero Beach for the last twenty years. While in Akron, he worked for several tire companies. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vero Beach.
He leaves his wife, F. Grace Bowen; son, James E. Bowen Jr. of Marion, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Lois E. Todd of Barberton; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Rohama Wilson in Ellsworth, GA, and Mrs. Clora Fitzgerald in Schuyler, VA.
Eckard-Baldwin Funeral Home to hold services on Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
