She was born February 22, 1911, in Yancey County to the late Emmet Allen and Dulcie Atkins Allen.
Preceding her in death were her husband; Lawrence D. Suttle, Sr.; a son; William Clyde (Jack) Suttle; two daughters-in-law Jo Ann and Olita Suttle; a grandson; Bryan Suttle; a great grandson; Billy Suttle; three brothers; Claude, Vernon and Ernest Allen; five sisters; Carie Belle Boone, Edith Lyda, Vergie Pruitt, Grace Byas and Myrtle Dolen.
Survivors include four sons; thirteen grandchildren; thirty two great grandchildren and twenty six great great grandchildren.
Garnie was a charter member of the Christian Creek Baptist Church.
She retired from Beacon Mfg. Co. after thirty-five years of service.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; who was noted for her excellent cooking. She was a "precious" lady to all who knew her; a perfect example of "love".
