Tadashi Abo, a 93-year-old resident of Heyburn, passed away at his home on Friday, April 4, 2008.
He was born March 13, 1915, in Orwood, Calif., the son of Sawataro and Yoshi Kobayashi Abo. He was a graduate of Rupert High School. He married Tsuyu Kawai on Nov. 21, 1941, in Twin Falls.
Tad was a lifelong farmer and livestock producer. He was active in our community, where he served as a member on various boards of directors including the FHA, Paul Labor Camp, Minidoka Irrigation District, ASCS, Minidoka County Lamb and Wool Pool, and the Idaho and National Cattlemen's Associations. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling.
Tad was a member of the Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children, Carole (Gary) Kawamura of Pocatello, Betty (Clarence) Reed of West Valley City, Utah, Sharon (Jay) Bryan of Twin Falls and Scott Abo of Heyburn; son-in-law, Loren Honstead of Caldwell; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Yoneko Kikuchi of Burley, Tom (Sumi) Abo of Heyburn, Isamu Abo of Arvada, Colo., George (Shiz) Abo and Roy Abo, all of Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tsuyu Abo; his daughter, Lois Honstead; and two sisters of Japan.
