Wilma was the youngest of nine children born to Joseph Marshel and Almeda Darcus (Garrison) Garrison. She was married in 1940 to George Cornelius Wilson.

WILMA L. WILSON HARPER, 79,

Wilma L. Wilson Harper, 79, of Ava, died at 5:35 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava.

Mrs. Harper was a lifelong resident of ava. She was born Nov. 4, 1921, in the Flat Rock Community of Douglas County, the daughter of Joseph Marshel and Almeda Garrison.

Mrs. Harper was a retired certified nurses aid from Chastain's Nursing Home, for 13 years and also worked on the farm. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, June Wilson Weaver and husband, Bill, of Millington, Tenn., and Kathy Harper Ferguson, Bentonville, Ark.; one son, Dennis G. Harper, Forsyth; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Lula Headrick, Tarkio, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today (Thursday) at Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
