Jessie Gustava, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Crane, was born February 3, 1885.

Her whole life was in Augusta and vicinity. She was educated in the public schools of Butler Co., and graduated from Augusta High School at the age of 15 years.

She was married to Don Counsil September 7, 1903. To them were born 2 children; a daughter Marjory, and a son Oran Raymond. She died January 3, 1906 after a short illness. Her death was a great shock to her relatives and friends.

She leaves a husband, 2 children, her mother, father, 2 brothers, and hosts of friends to mourn her untimely end. She was a member of the M.E. Church. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Enos from her late home on E. Main Street.

The death of this brave little woman occurred under circumstances that bring sorrow to everyone. All who had known her, felt a personal loss. There were expressions of sorrow and grief on every hand.

The writer had known her but a few years, but could not fail to observe the keen intelligence, the cheerful disposition and the many rare qualities of mind and heart, that made her at once interesting and beloved.

She was devoted to her home and family, the boon companion of her mother, a loving daughter and sister, and such a good friend.

She was a member of the M.E. Church and Sunday School, and by her death simply entered into her rightful inheritance, the fullness of her heavenly father’s love, a mansion in his house where she awaits her loved ones.
