On September 3, 2023, Rebecca Hollifield received her wings and went home to be with Jesus.

Mrs. Hollifield was born July 4, 1941 in Guilford County to the late Eugene and Pauline McMahan.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, mamaw and mimi who was known for always putting her family first. Through her suffering over the last several years, she remained strong, courageous and happy.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald McMahan.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jay Hollifield; daughter, Sheri Sexton; son, Dale Hollifield (Denise); sister, Susan Penland (Richard); brother, Ken McMahan (Barbara); grandchildren, Alyssa, Kristen, Kelsey, Alexis, Lola, and Colton; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Arleigh, Piersyn and Keelie; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow in the cemetery.
